As I know quite a few voracious readers, I’m always interested in finding places that offer gifts for book lovers. So I was particularly happy to find a new website that not only offers gifts, but also donates the profits to libraries around the world. It’s called Gone Reading: Brilliant Products for the Reading Lifestyle.
I love how it refers to reading as a lifestyle. That seems like such a great descriptor to me. I choose to spend my time reading because I believe it enhances many other parts of my life: that is a desire to continue learning year after year. As I read, I may learn something about history or people, or events in the world or any number of things.
The Gone Reading store offers so many things from the expected, like bookmarks and book lights, to the out of the ordinary, like a “Jane Austen for President” t-shirt and games about books and reading that you can play with book club members.
After a career in marketing where he worked on some of the world’s largest consumer brands, Coca-Cola, American Express, Gone Reading’s founder Brad Wirz is now using his expertise to promote products that will ultimately contribute to greater literacy. That’s a cause I’m happy to support.
